What to Expect
What happens after I request an appointment?
Once you submit your appointment request through the client portal, I’ll review it and follow up by email as soon as I’m able. From there, we’ll schedule a brief, free consultation call so you can share a bit about what you’re looking for, ask any questions, and get a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit.
How do telehealth sessions work?
Therapy sessions are held via Zoom, a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. Before your first session, you’ll receive a personalized link and simple instructions for joining from your computer, tablet, or phone. Many clients appreciate the flexibility and comfort of meeting from home while still having a dedicated space and time set aside for themselves.
Fully remote care
To ensure a safe and effective session, the following are required in addition to a stable internet connection:
- Able to connect with both audio and video during the session
- Physically located in a state where their clinician is licensed (all of our clinicians are licensed in Oklahoma)
- In a private, stationary location with enough space to engage fully in session
- Think of it like a private counseling room: somewhere no one is coming in and out, or a parked car where you feel comfortable
- This means no traveling, driving, walking around, or riding as a passenger in a moving vehicle
- Not under the influence of any substances
- Fully clothed
Enhancing Your Session Experience
- Find a quiet, private space with good lighting before your session begins.
- Turn your phone on Do Not Disturb or Focus Mode during your session so you’re not interrupted by notifications.
- Use a computer or tablet when possible for a larger screen, though a phone works fine with good headphones.
- Position your camera at eye level for a more natural face-to-face feel.
